The VT Child Care Apprenticeship Program announces successful expansion to outlying regions in Vermont! Recruitment of registered apprentices continues through this summer, with new sponsors in Newport Center, Greensboro Bend and Arlington!

A cycle of 6 College Courses have started in St. Johnsbury, serving the NorthEast Kingdom region of Vermont and in Arlington, serving Bennington County and the surrounding areas. The 1st College Courses concludes in August and has allowed an additional 31 child care workers to access tuition-free, credit-bearing classes from Community College of Vermont.

The classes in Arlington have received support from various community resources, including the Starting Points Networks through Bennington County Child Care Association as well as Bennington County Success by Six.

Community grants from Downs, Rachlin & Martin and the Vermont Community Foundation, the cycle of classes in St. Johnsbury has been implemented.

These community grants are blended with other funding received through the efforts of the VT Child Care Industry & Careers Council. Grant writing and fundraising efforts continue to supply the full cycle of courses in each community.
