Early Childhood Day, March 15, 2002

March 15, 2002 Capital Plaza, Montpelier

Early Childhood Day at the Legislature 2002 brought supervisors of child care apprentices to the State Capital for formal recognition of their work. The 1st year of the VT Child Care Apprenticeship Program saw over 25 supervisors successfully complete college level training in Mentoring, which includes Supervision and Leadership skills. Champlain College awarded 3 college credits for each successful completion of this required course.

Lt. Governor Doug Racine joined the VT Child Care Industry & Careers Council for the formal presentation of completion certificates. On hand to join in the celebration were over 150 child care workers, representatives of state and federal agencies, staff from local and statewide organizations which support the crucial early years in a child’s life.
