It costs approximately $5,000 to support a child care apprentice through the 2 year training program. This cost includes tuition into 6 college courses, textbooks for those courses, and training materials for both the apprentice and mentor. Mentors are also provided with a full day of training focused on their needs to provide support for their apprentice. Over the two year training, on the job skills further develop and the Council endeavors to retain these skilled workers. Research has shown that 75% of completed apprentices remain in the field. Many then go on to further their education, earning Child Care Certificates or Associate Degrees through Community College of VT.

If you would like to support an apprentice team, tax deductible gifts of any size are appreciated and will go directly into the support of sustaining the Child Care Apprenticeship Program.

Thank you so much for supporting quality child care "one apprentice at a time"!
