Statement of Interest

To help prepare a smooth transition for your Child Care Program into VT?s Registered Apprenticeship for the Child Development Specialist, the first step in the process is to submit a Statement of Interest. This notifies the VT Child Care Industry & Careers Council of your willingness to participate in the support system for the Apprenticeship Program. This should include a plan for supporting the necessary teamwork of the Apprentice(s) and Mentor(s) in the Child Care Program.

In conjunction with the Statement of Interest for the Sponsor, the Council must also receive similar paperwork from an Apprentice and Mentor, showing a support team is in place for a 2 year time frame. Upon receipt of all paperwork needed, consultation(s) and site visit(s) will occur to complete the application process through the VT Child Care Industry & Careers Council, and the VT Department of Employment and Training, Apprenticeship Division.

*Please Note: If you would like to participate as an apprentice or mentor you should submit your "Statement of Interest" in conjunction with your child care program's "Statement of Interest".
