Franklin West Supervisory Union Preschool is hosted at Bellows Free Academy (B.F.A.) which is located at 75 Hunt Street in Fairfax. Bellows Free Academy is a public school that provides services for grades pre-kindergarten through twelve. Students come to us from Fairfax and the surrounding towns of Fletcher, Georgia, and Westford. Apprentice Lorna Meunier works in the preschool at B.F.A. Fairfax as a Paraprofessional and committed to the apprenticeship program in April of 2009. Lorna writes about her hopes for the program, “I currently work with a great group of professionals that have the knowledge and ability to help young children learn both socially and academically at the preschool level. I am impressed with their ability to prepare these students for their future academic experiences. I hope to learn from these people while getting extra education to back up my on the job experience.” Lorna comes to the Apprenticeship Program with an Associates Degree in Business from Champlain College. Mentor Stephanie Boutin has her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. She brings experience as a child care director, working for a Early Essential Education preschool program, and with a Head Start program. Stephanie is working with apprentice Lorna Meunier and is eager to “share my years of experience working with young children and families.” She also writes, “This is a great opportunity to provide families with resources and information as it relates to child development.” |
