Countryside Children’s Center is located at 12 Field Road in St. Fairfax. Open Monday through Friday, from 6:45 a.m. -5:30 p.m., the program serves families by providing quality child care for those 6 weeks to 12 years of age. “We are committed to respecting the individuality of each child while providing a stimulating learning environment for our children, families, and teachers.” Owner Diane Russin supports the program as a sponsor and writes, “The program appeals to me because it supports the cause of training teachers properly for further responsibilities and allows them to be successful while still working.” Apprentice Lynn Luman joined the training program in April of 2009. A mother and a grandmother, Lynn has experience in the field as a home school coordinator, a para-educator and a Behavior Interventionist. When starting the Apprenticeship Program in April, Lynn had already completed 45 hours of training towards her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, which she earned in November 2009. Lynn’s interest in the program stems from her desire to serve and help children as well as obtaining the certifications that speak to her knowledge level and skills. She writes, “I feel you can always learn. I am of course very interested in obtaining my degree, and feel that I have a lot of knowledge when it comes to children, but want the certification that proves so.”
Mentor and Owner Diane Russin obtained her Child Development Associate’s Credential in 2006 and has owned and operated Countryside Children’s Center since 1996. She is a member of the VT Child Care Providers Assn. And a member of the Kids Are Priority One Coalition. With a wealth of knowledge in the industry, Diane writes, “I am excited to share the knowledge that I have obtained in the years of service that I have provided care.” |
