Mentors

Mentors

Mentors are identified by the child care program as those experienced and skilled enough to provide excellent support and supervision to someone newer to the field.  Mentors also agree that supervision and assessment within the Registered Apprenticeship program will be part of their work for two years.

Mentors are offered a College Courses in leadership and work with a "Continuous Improvement Assessment Model" to support their apprentice.  Just as the apprentices work hard, so do the supervisors.

The Vermont Apprenticeship Program cares about the development of all child care providers at all levels and works to ensure the framework for this educational support meets the needs of the "apprentice team" of apprentice and mentor.  Both are truly partners learning and working together.
