Participate in FREE credit bearing coursework designed for child care providers.

Receive helpful support and mentoring
on the job.

Earn compensation in the form of educational scholarships for successful College Courses completion

Participate in the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program in Vermont and help it be even better for future apprentices.

Increase in career options.

Ability obtain college credit and two nationally recognized competency based certificates: the CDA and Registered Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion.

Responsibilities

Make an honest effort to assess your interest and ability to make a long term commitment to the registered apprenticeship program. It requires a desire to learn through courses, on-the-job support and supervision and working about 4,000 hours which is two years of full time employment.

Attend the Related Instruction and participate to the best of your ability.

Incorporate knowledge gained in the related instruction into on-the-job work.

Work with your mentor to improve skills and create an excellent child care environment.

Talk with your mentor or others directly involved in the apprenticeship program if you have complaints or concerns about the program.  This will help you have a good experience and possibly improve things for others.
