Apprentices

Apprentices

Apprentices come to the Registered Apprenticeship Program from a variety of backgrounds.  Some are new to the field, some graduated from Human Services programs in Vocational/Technical Centers, others have more experience on-the-job and some have additional education after high school.

What they all have in common is a willingness to commit to the two year on-the-job responsibilities of an apprentice working with a mentor and to the 297 hours of instruction related to the profession of child care. These are very exciting opportunities but also require extra work. The willingness do do this extra work is often powered by enthusiasm to provide the best possible service to children.
